What to include in your message
- Your Carioca version (you'll see it under Settings in the app).
- Device model and OS version (e.g. iPhone 14, iOS 17.4).
- What you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot or screen recording if you have one.
Lost data
Carioca stores everything locally on your device. We don't have any cloud copy of your games. If you reinstalled the app or switched phones without restoring your full iOS / Android backup, the previous data cannot be recovered from our side.
Things to try before giving up:
- iOS: if iCloud Backup was enabled on your previous phone and you restored the full backup on the new one, your games should be there.
- Android: if Auto-backup was enabled to Google Drive and you restored the device backup, your games should be there.
If none of that works, write to us anyway — sometimes there are partial paths forward.
Issues with the tip (tip jar)
Tips inside Carioca are processed directly by Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing. We don't process payments ourselves and cannot issue refunds through that channel. If you want to request a refund, you must do so through the platform:
- iOS: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Android: Google Play refund guide
If you think the purchase failed but you were still charged, or if the tip didn't show up in the app, that we can help with — just write to us.
Reporting a bug or suggesting a feature
Carioca is under active development. Specific bug reports and feature suggestions are read and prioritized. We don't have a public ticket system yet, but we reply to your email confirming receipt and, when applicable, when it's resolved.
Common questions
"The app closed mid-game." Carioca autosaves on every change. When you reopen it, you should be exactly where you left off, including the current hand. If that's not the case, write to us with your version and device.
"I can't pick my suit." Suits are assigned automatically based on the order players enter setup. They are not manually selectable in v1 — this is a deliberate decision of the Naipe system.
"My regional variant is missing." v1 implements the classic 10-hand Chilean variant. More regional variants will land post-launch. If you want yours to be next, send us the exact rules — that speeds up implementation.
